Something about Mary…
• Born in NZ, raised in Canada . Returned to New Zealand as a very shy, very nerdy, horse besotted teenager.
• Teacher trained. Degree in Anthropology.
• Four adult children
• Happy grandmother
• Live on a farm
• Worked for 23 years as a social worker (child protection)
• Been involved with children’s theatre, theatre and debates since 1983.
• Storytelling professionally since 1994.
• Winner in the national television Stand up Comedy competition.
• Celebrity debates 20years
• Storytelling tours include( annually) Australia , United kingdom , Wales , Ireland and of course New Zealand .
• Full time storyteller for the past three years.
• Music/Story festival (Te- Rangi ) held on our property for past 10 years.
• Annual residential storytelling workshops, drama camps, music workshops, professional development courses held on our property.
• Husband, Peter Charlton-Jones, musician, has joined me on the road and we happily combine music and storytelling. And it’s lovely to share the driving!)
